We have decided to award the COCOA Art Prize to Rosa Kennedy, Sorcha Noble and Natasha Withington – three P16 students from King Edward VII School, Sheffield for designing and leading the ‘Imagining Castlegate’ drawing workshop at Studio COCOA, Castle House during the weekend of the Castlegate Festival. The young people laid out a large sheet of paper and invited participants to imagine what Castlegate could be in ideal world. The resulting collaborative artwork, which featured drawings in a variety of media from all ages and abilities, was richly detailed and featured a splendid variety of ideas, drawing styles, and techniques.

They had no trouble in approaching and engaging people directly with their workshop, and acted very supportively throughout – drawing out creative and thoughtful responses from all who took part.’
